The first OxNatBees meeting of the year will be at the [Marsh Harrier
pub](http://www.marshharriercowley.co.uk/) in Cowley, Oxford on Saturday, March
10th.
Start time: 1PM. The pub serves food.
The following discussion topics have been suggested but of course, all
questions are welcome:
- winter survival
- immediate tasks (remove mouseguards, how to check colony health etc)
- what we are planning / preparing this year
- how to repair hives with bees in residence
- the imminent swarm season
The pub is within walking distance of Jack's top bar hives and if weather
permits, at the end of the meeting we will go and look at them. One hive has an
emergency rescue colony in it which Jack does not expect to survive: if it has
died we will open it up and show how to do a post mortem on it.
We will be joined by someone who wishes to promote the [Bee.Watch
app](http://www.bee.watch/), they are based in south Oxfordshire and after
having several hive losses from spray poisoning they have written the app and
are promoting it to various bee groups.
