Some of you may remember Sue Helm in Bampton, who used to keep bees but had
to withdraw after developing allergic responses to stings. She has just
contacted us to say:
I have a spinner for national hive frames and a top only bee suit . Happy
to let someone have these if they will make a donation of their choice to a
bee related charity.
I assume you will have to drive over to Bampton to pick them up.
For our newer members, I should explain that a spinner is a centrifugal
device used to extract honey from frames of honeycomb. The ones I've seen
are stainless steel and large, so consider where you would store it. They
come in various types and I do not know what Sue has - motorised or hand
cranked; and various orientations for the comb which probably affects size.
