MORE MUSIC ADDED TO NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY WASHINGTON (AP) - A
pioneering Los Angeles rap group, Barbra Streisand, David Bowie and
among this year's additions to the National Recording Registry. The
Library of Congress says N.W.A's album, "Straight Outta Compton,"
should be preserved for posterity. "Straight Outta Compton" influenced
a generation of rappers with its raw lyrics about gang violence and the
drug trade. Other additions include Barbra Streisand's 1964 recording
of the song "People," from the musical "Funny Girl"; the late David
Bowie's 1972 concept album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the
Spiders from Mars"; the original-cast recording of the musical "The
Wiz" and Sister Sledge's 1979 anthem "We Are Family. Sound:
