ROBIN THICKE-PAULA PATTON CUSTODY DISPUTE GETS DAY IN COURT LOS ANGELES
(AP) A judge in Los Angeles will hold a hearing today about actress
Paula Patton's allegations that Robin Thicke was abusive to her and
their 6-year-old son. Patton is seeking a five-year restraining order
against Thicke. A court filing released yesterday revealed Patton has
accused Thicke of tampering with a court order to get her arrested.
Last month, a judge ordered Thicke to stay away from Patton and only
have supervised visits with their son. Thicke denies abusing his son.
BEYONCE PULLS OUT OF COACHELLA NEW YORK (AP) Beyonce is putting off her
appearance at Coachella until next year. Her production company and the
Coachella producer say in a joint statement that Beyonce is bowing out
of this year's festival at the advice of her doctors. She's pregnant
with twins. A replacement has not yet been named. The other Coachella
headliners are Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar. Coachella will be held the
second and third weekend in April in Indio, California. JACKIE EVANCHO
WANTS TO LOBBY THE PRESIDENT WASHINGTON (AP) While the debate over
transgender rights moves to a federal level, Jackie Evancho
(ee-VANK'-oh) hopes to get some face time with President Donald Trump.
Evancho tweeted Wednesday she wants to meet with Trump to talk about
the issue. Evancho's sister, Juliet, is transgender. They both appeared
on "Good Morning America" yesterday and Evancho said they want to
"enlighten" the president. Evancho sang the national anthem at Trump's
inauguration. The Justice and Education departments said Wednesday that
public schools no longer need follow rules enacted last May by
President Barack Obama instructing them to allow transgender students
to use bathrooms and locker rooms of their chosen gender. HARVARD WILL
GIVE AWARD TO RIHANNA BOSTON (AP) Rihanna is going to Harvard ... to
accept an award. Harvard has named Rihanna its Humanitarian of the Year
for building a cancer center in her native Barbados, creating a
scholarship program and supporting child education projects. Rihanna
will accept the award at the university on Tuesday. RONNIE DEVOE'S WIFE
IS EXPECTING UNDATED (AP) Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition and of Bell Biv
DeVoe is going to be a dad. DeVoe announced on Instagram he and his
wife, Shamari, are going to be blessed with a "new edition" to their
family. No word on when she's due. MIRANDA, TIMBERLAKE AMONG CONTENDERS
FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG OSCAR LOS ANGELES (AP) Lin-Manuel Miranda could
join the EGOT club if he wins the best original song Oscar. Miranda
already has an Emmy, two Grammys and three Tonys and is just missing
the "O' for "Oscar" in EGOT. Miranda is nominated for writing "How Far
I'll Go" from the film "Moana (MWA'-nah). His competition includes
Justin Timberlake, who co-wrote "Can't Stop The Feeling! from "Trolls"
and Sting, who co-wrote "The Empty Chair" from "Jim: The James Foley
Story. Two songs from "La La Land" are nominated: "City of Stars" and
"Audition (The Fools Who Dream). The Academy Awards are Sunday in Los
