METALLICA COMMENT ON GRAMMY SNAFU UNDATED (AP) Metallica drummer Lars
Ulrich says a minute before they started playing on the Grammys on
Sunday, everything was working. Ulrich tells The Associated Press that
sometime between then and when singer James Hetfield started to sing,
the microphone stopped functioning. Metallica and Lady Gaga
collaborated on the song "Moth Into Flame," but only her microphone
worked. Ulrich says his "phone blew up" with friends calling to say
"how awesome it was that Gaga and James were in each other's face,
singing into the same microphone. He says the "energy and the spectacle
came across. Metallica will launch a tour May 10 in Baltimore. Avenged
Sevenfold and Volbeat will open. Every ticket comes with a copy of the
"Hardwired....To Self-Destruct" album. AVENGED SEVENFOLD BASSIST IS A
DAD UNDATED (AP) Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ (KRYST) will
be back in the lineup with tonight's show in Berlin after taking daddy
leave. Christ writes on the band's website he took time off because his
wife recently gave birth to a boy. They've named him Franklin James.
CASSADEE POPE AND RIAN DAWSON ARE ENGAGED UNDATED (AP) Cassadee Pope
and All Time Low drummer Rian Dawson are getting married. They both
shared photos on social media of them kissing with Pope's engagement
ring shown prominently. Her caption was, "We're engaged," while his
was, "The love of my life is now OFFICIALLY the love of my life. Never
been happier. They've been dating for seven years. No word on a wedding
date. VINCE GILL WEIGHS IN ON LIP-SYNCING LOS ANGELES (AP) Vince Gill
is not a purist about always singing live. He says singers have been
lip-syncing for 40 years, himself included. Gill says he first
lip-synced on "Solid Gold" and "American Bandstand. He says sometimes
it's terrifying to sing something like the national anthem in a place
where he can't hear himself. He says there are plenty of reasons why
singers would lip-sync but he doesn't feel "it's ever predicated on the
