Hi Kerri, welcome to the list. I am John, originally from Detroit, but
now living in Apache Junction, Arizona. I love listening to and playing
music, reading, and I am an amateur radio operator. I loved your tag
line about being Canadian, as I am of french descent, and probably came
through Canada. My absolute favorite guitar player, is Gordon Lightfoot,
and I think I learned to play acoustic guitar from his music. I read an
interview whare he described his flat picking technique, and I basically
use the same technique!
Speaking of Canadian artists, I will be putting up a folder of the artist
Valdy, but there is one album that I used to have on vinyl, that I can't
seem to find anywhare. I almost bought a vinyl copy from amazon, but I
didn't. If anyone has it, I would love to get a copy, even if I had to
take a cassette as I am equipped to rip from vinyl or cassette. The
album is called:
Valdy and the Hometown Band. Apparently, it has never been released on
CD, wich is a shame!
