To be honest with you I'm not sure if there's a Y around here. I think there is
one but the building is really old and I heard they were trying to terret down.
Yes my friend Alan is blind. He's totally like us. He's a full college
professor and he also teaches junior high and sometimes high school. And he 69
years old and he still teaching and he has no desire to retire. He's also a ham
radio operator extra class. So he may help me with some of the elves your
brother I'm having trouble with because I'm really having trouble with the
algebra. I have to check and see where there's a pool. The only thing is I
don't have a swimming suit anymore. So I would have to buy one. Yes I hope I
can go to Vermont. I don't think I can do Vermont and go see my mom in Lockport
at the same time. I don't really think I could do both. If I could stay up in
Vermont for a month that might be good but I hope I wouldn't lose my age if I
did that. I know people are allowed to go away and stuff. Even if I went for
two weeks that would be good at least I be away during some of the
construction. Well I've gone into the Apple store without getting an
appointment. So I don't know about this number on your phone. But maybe I could
look it up I don't know. But anyway hopefully they can help me put the QVC up
on because I'm having trouble with it. I can get past my password and some of
the stuff but then when it comes to putting my credit card information in and
stuff like that I'm having trouble. And that's really crazy. But anyway that
some other apps I want to put on as well. There's a guy in my ham radio club
that might help me to I don't know. But lately he hasn't because he's been
helping with out with the classes. He's been running the projector on the
computer so Charles our teacher can use that PowerPoint stuff. Why he likes the
slides and stuff I have no idea. But they don't help me much although Charles
does describe everything. And Alan has help me with the math thank goodness.
He's been tutoring me over the phone. And maybe he'll do that again. Anyway
he's pretty patient thank you because if he wasn't I think I would be totally
stressed out. Anyway as far as my mom goes it seems like in someway she's
living in the past. I mean when I talk to her tonight she's talking about the
school for the blind that I went to and stuff like that and she told me about
this article in the paper because they're in trouble for abusing Stunz oh boy
here we go again. Steph numbers abusing students or multiply handicapped and
not able to defend themselves. And I hope they catch the people who did it and
from what my mother told me it was a mail person that did it. And I hope that
person spends a lot of time in prison. Well I said students and Siri said Stone
sorry about that. Boy that really kind of makes me mad. But my shoulder tonight
doesn't feel that bad and my niece don't feel that bad either really. So that's
a good thing. But anyway I can't wait until I get my package. Probably I'll get
it at the end of the week. Yes I was born at 8 o'clock at night on February 28.
And they didn't think I was going to make it so they had to put me in the
incubator and the rest is history my mom told me they tried to take the oxygen
away and she said every time they did it I would turn blue. So I guess they had
to keep giving it to me. But anyway other than that things are OK. But anyway
I'm not gonna do much this week. My ETA is going to come tomorrow and help do
the laundry and stuff. So that'll be good too. Anyway I'm going to call Jell-O
and order some putting's because my mom couldn't get his money if he wanted to
get me. And that's just really crazy. Honestly it really is. So hopefully I can
do that tomorrow. Hopefully they'll help me get me the flavors that I want. But
the people in the Apple Store of been really accommodating and usually I go
there right before they open so I can be the first customer in there. And I
have to take two buses so that's how that goes. So anyway hopefully they can
help me put the apps on. But I really want to listen to QVC live in the Home
Shopping Network life. And I've tried to get it to play and I just got an
frustrated so that's the way the coast.

Hey Kathleen, first off, an early happy birthday to you!! At least you were
lucky enough to be born on a February 28th and not on a leap year on the 29th
of
the month. At least you actually have your birthday come up each and every
year!
I'm really glad your mom and you had a chance to have a good talk, and also
glad
that she's sending you things like cookies, candy and things like soap and
deodorant and maybe toothpaste that we can all use. Sweet!
Your friend Allen sounds like a really nice guy. Is he blind also? Hope you
do
get to go to Vermont soon. I hear it's really beautiful there, though as
blind
people, we'd probably miss out on a lot of the beauty there.
Do you live near a YWCA? Or a YMCA? Those are usually places with pools and
they welcome people with disabilities. From what I understand, the one
closest
to me in Oakland is very accommodating, and they have specific classes which
encourage those of us with disabilities and with things like arthritis going
on
in our knees to exercise them in the water. Hopefully the water is nice and
warm too. I gather the Y near me has an indoor pool. I wanted to go there
but
things were progressively getting worse for me so had to not follow through
with
my desires on that. Anyway, I was just thinking that perhaps there's
something
like a Y near you which wouldn't be too outlandishly expensive where you could
take swim classes and get the exercise you're interested in getting. Hope
that
might be of help.
I can certainly see why you'd want to get away for awhile, especially after
all
of the stuff you've been through with the apartment reconstruction. Sure hope
you can get away, and also hope that you'll be able to do it in a time when
the
weather is best, not too hot, not too cold. Is there any chance you might be
able to see your mom? Goodness knows, I'll bet she'd love to see you again!
If you have an Apple store near you, you'd probably be able to get the help in
figuring out how to set up the QVC app on your I-phone. They might be able to
help you with other things as well. Maybe you could start making a list of
the
things you want to get help with. They were very accommodating to me.
However,
if memory serves, I had to make an appointment to go in before I went. I
couldn't just walk or be driven to the nearest Apple store and expect to be
seen. My friend Ann is thinking seriously about getting an I-phone and
getting
lessons in how to work with it, including perhaps printing things by attaching
her phone to a printer. I am sure she'd be able to catch on to how to use it,
but like anything, she'd need help learning in the beginning. The folks at
the
Apple store were extremely accommodating and helpful to me when I did manage
to
get in there. Good luck getting an appointment. You'd have to get a certain
number off of your phone, something like an I M E I number. It's sort of
like
your telephone's serial number I think, and I was told where to get it from.
I
think it's in the "about" menu. I think the number has 16 digits or something
like that.
