In order to get the tar out of my shoes, Duane takes nail polish remover and a
paper clip, and scrapes it out of the grooves in my shoes, and then removes it
with a Kleenex from the paper clip. It’s a tedious process, but that’s the
only way it will come off. Yucky! Thank God for my sighted husband. I
probably wouldn’t be able to do it without making a bigger mess. As it was
today, I waited till I came in to check my shoes, something out of the
ordinary. I usually check them outside. Surprised I found some on my right
foot, I took a Kleenex and brushed all the tar soaked rocks into the waste
basket, and tried to clean it up before telling Duane. He was playing a new
computer game with our son in Tucson, so I didn’t want to interrupt. So, I put
the shoe on the sink counter, which is right by the door, and proceeded to
clean my hands. I can’t put nail polish remover directly on my hands over the
sink, since once I accidentally spilled the remover in the sink and it’s left
its mark forever in my sink. So, I used Pine sall on my hands. It seemed to
do the trick, but I guess I left some on my thumb nail. Duane took it off when
he did my shoe a little while later.

Well, the water finally came back on, about 3:40 PM. I cleaned the counters
and table and stove, and rinsed my morning dishes. Then I cleaned the toilet.
If I told you why, it would be too much information and gross. So, then I
went out and dumped the toilet tank, since today is the normal day I do that.
But somehow on the way back in, I got my right shoe full of tar. Everything
was a mess outside, tree branches down from the tree behind us, and everything
covered with dust. Oh, I forgot to tell you guys, last night when the power
was off, we opened the roof vent hoping to get some cross breeze by opening the
door. So, my counter was covered with dust to clean when the water came back
on. I sure hope this next round of storms they say are coming tonight, won’t
have the same result as last night’s storms that never really reached us. We
are so blessed however, just before the outage, I saw online that a storm was
headed our way capable of producing 70 mph winds. We would not have survived
such a high gust. So, I prayed. God listened, but we still lost power. Could
have been much worse. Thank you Jesus!

Oh, Vickie, you poor soul! Not only are you dealing with unbearable heat but
also with having no fresh water!! Ee gads, I remember living in Ohio and that
happening to me in the first mobile home park I was in with my husband in his
old home. Buckeye Lake was a very small town, and often the water had rust in
it.

You are soooooo right! It’s now almost 2 PM and the water still isn’t fixed.
At around 11, I called the store/manager’s office, and they said it would be
fixed in an hour. Grrrrr! I haven’t brushed my teeth in two days and haven’t
washed my face yet today. I don’t want to use up all of our fresh water supply
which was filled back when we lived in Texas. So, that means, it’s not exactly
clean. Luckily, when they did fix the water yesterday, I did take a shower.
But, the power being off and sweating for 5 hours, kind of ruined the shower,
if you know what I mean. I’m certainly better having taken one, buts still, I
was hoping it would last for more than a few hours. smile. Pouring on the B O
juice. smile.

Ew'w'w'w'w, ick. Makes ya wanna move, huh?
Karen
Well, itâs been a pretty miserable couple of days. Not only is the heat an
issue, but here in our RV park, apparently Thursday night, just after 9
oâclock, the well had some kind of problem. The management here has never
given us as renters, any after hours emergency phone number to call. There is
a store, gas station, on the property, which, didnât have water either, but
no one knew of the problem until 5 oâclock in the morning, or later. It
didnât get fixed until Friday afternoon. Then last night, we had bad storms
east of us, and we got some wind, but very little sprinkles at all. Anyway, we
lost power. Again, it was just after 9 at night, so the store was closed.
Thatâs where the managers are during the daytime hours. So, I had to call the
power company and sit on the phone for almost an hour, to report the outage.
Strangely enough, the bar, which is also on the property had power, but we
didnât know that until around 1 AM, so no sense in going there. Every time we
opened our door for some outside air, exhaust would come in, due to the next
door neighbor sitting in his truck to have air conditioning. Finally, about
1:40 this morning, the power came back on. So, then we awoke to having no
water again. Supposedly thereâs a broken water main in the park, and as of
now, 12:30 PM, its still not fixed. Weâre so upset. Weâve used up almost
all of our fresh water tank going to the bathroom. Canât even wash my face.
Dirty dishes are lying in the sink, which never happens in my house, and
grrrrrrr! So venting to my friends may help me feel better. Sorry for the rant.
Vickie
May God bless you now, and evermore!
