Two main points:
1. With Dropbox, whatever anybody shares with you actually goes on
your computer and their computer; if you share a file that you have on
your F drive, once you put it in a Dropbox folder, and it's now on
your F drive and in Dropbox as well, taking up space in 2 places
(provided you copied and not cut and pasted). With Open Drive,
whatever's on that drive doesn't take up space on your computer. You
could get your own O D account and actually back up your whole
computer and other external hard drives you may have. It works pretty
much like OneDrive.
2. People other than me cannot edit or delete, as we can with
Dropbox. That's another thing I like about it. One time, somebody
shared some albums with us on a shared folder in Dropbox. Before I
could get them, someone cut and pasted the files out of Dropbox to
their computer instead of copying and pasting them, and thank God it
was my account, so I could go on the D B site and get the deleted
files. We won't need to do this with Open Drive.
