01 Greg Kihn Band, The Break Up Song
You've perhaps heard artists or song writers talk about the hook that was
crucial to the success of a particular hit. In the case of this one, it seems to
me that "The Break-up Song" would be nothing without
uh uh uh - uh uh uh uh uh.
The recording will likely do more justice to that hook than did your screen
reader.
02 Randy Meisner - Deep Inside My Heart
Randy Meisner was a member of Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band from 68 'til 70,
and he did some session work for Linda Ronstadt after that. A founding member of
the Eagles, he was with them from 71 to 77, and wrote "Take it to the Limit."
After departing the Eagles, he became a founding member of Poco. This was
something of a hit for Meisner in the early 80s. I think the lady singing
back-up vocals was Kim Carnes.
03 The Everly Brothers -- I'm Not Angry
This was not an Everly Brothers single. It was instead on one of their early
LPs.
04 Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps, Say Mama
This first half of a contrast was released around Thanksgiving of 1958.
05 Tony Greco, say mama
This second half of our contrast was released around Thanksgiving, 1961. Tony
Greco was an artist from the Milwaukee area, who recorded it for a regional
label.
