I guess I thought it would just be easy for you guys to meet each other. I mean
people can each other in New York City pretty much that is if they can use para
transit or the buses in the subways and it's not really all that spread out and
even if they don't meet they can talk on the phone and stuff but anyway I guess
California must be really really huge. I've never been there so I don't know
what it's like maybe someday I'll get there sometime it would be pretty cool.

I guess I thought it would work I didn't know the distances were so far. I
mean people in New York City can visit each other because you can take a bus
and go from one county to the other. Or you can take the subway. I didn't
realize the California was that different whoops I guess I made a mistake
there. I just thought you guys could meet or call each other or something. It
would be nice to do that but I guess it really wouldn't work.

Oh wow I thought California got snow all the time. Just like New York
does. Well I guess I don't know much about the West Coast. I know probably LA
and the rest of it is warm all the time except I think they get rain. Oh boy
what fun. She wears anyway Rosie I'm really curious how far are you and Linda
apart? Is it too far for you guys to visit each other just curious.

Hi, Kathleen,
In winter our temperatures get up in the 60's but I do remember one
time years ago when it got to the late 30's. I was going to medical
transcribing school at that time and I had to wear gloves because it was so
cold. Yes, we do get snow in the mountains but not in the lower elevations. A
long time ago we got a little bit of snow but when it hit the ground, it
melted.

But it seems like you have a good support worker and I'm glad you like
her. It's really good it went as well as it could be. I'm really glad you
like her a lot. Well let's see I asked one of the people in my ham radio
group if they would make the label so I could send my braille writer back and
his response was why don't you ask somebody in your building to do it so now
I know not to ask that person to do anything like that. I'll just take the
braille writer to the UPS store and be done with it. But one of my friends
was kind of worried because he thought that I would fall trying to carry.
Because that thing is not light. I have to carry it there so I can get a box
because I don't have any boxes. But anyway I'll get it done and get it out of
here. Anyway the bank work for that read my credit card read me the wrong
numbers on the back. My worker had to read it and believe it or not she said
the print was so small she had to put her glasses on to read it and we kind a
got a giggle ou
t of that. But anyway at least she did what I needed done so now I have it.
Anyway I got to steal from cure eggs where I can get four boxes of coffee
every 12 weeks for $47 and that's pretty good. And I can change my flavors
anytime I want. So I'm going to use that for a while. Then if I get tired of
it I can cancel it. And I also got the number for Jell-O so I can order the
footings that I want. And that's pretty cool. Hopefully my braille writer
I'll come back just like new and I'll be glad when that happens. And I'll
talk to my mother tomorrow and I'll see what she's up to but right now she's
doing pretty good for 90 years old. But the thing I wish is I would like to
see that braille note that flying blind self. You know the apex. I wish they
had a payment plan so that if people wanted to buy those they could but it
doesn't seem like they do when I don't think that's right but that's just my
opinion. I really wish they had something like that. That would be really
cool. But anywa
y I'm going to go to the Apple store at some point and have somebody help me
put the QVC app on my phone as well as the McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts
apps. Those will be pretty good if I want to use then what if I decide not to
I can get rid of them. Well OK I thought in California there wasn't any snow.
I thought it was warm all year round like Florida I didn't know you guys got
snow so that's crazy. Maybe in the mountains I guess but what about where you
are when did you get snow or does it just rain? What is your weather like out
there? Just curious does it get really cold? Is it get down below zero or not
just wondered.

I saw an article about that poor truck, Linda. I guess they
closed that whole stretch of highway down so he could get to a safe turn off
to get the truck towed, or fixed anyway. It would indeed be frightening.
glad they brought him to safety.

Oo, Vickie, how horrible and how frightening. I’m sure glad you
and Mary made it through that horrible piece of snowy highway in one piece!
I heard about a poor guy who had one wheel of a truck he had to drive for
delivery off of a road and hanging down a cliff. This would have been in the
mountain area north of the Bay Area during one of the most recent storms at a
time mud slides were happening in the area. Luckily, someone from Cal Trans
(the agency which cleans up mud slides and assists stranded drivers) helped
him to make sure the truck stayed on the road. He said he was never so
frightened in his life. I sure don’t envy drivers during winter storms as
conditions can be so treacherous!

No no, not a rehab teacher. Just a pea on secretary. I worked
for the Business Enterprise Program though, and every year they did a

I was in charge of talking about several things and they always held the
training beginning January, through March. Right in the heart of winter.
One time Mary Jenkins and I hit an icy spot on I-94 and bounced from left to
right, off snow piles, praying we wouldn’t get hit by one of the nine semi
trucks that were passing by, or crashed on the side of the road. Very
frightening. We were in a mini van.

Vicki,
Were you a rehab teacher at the commission?
As far as the snow goes I wouldn't mind a couple more snow storms
so I can get a couple more snow days.

Since Kalamazoo is the snow capital I use to say. Had some scary rides

and dad, traveling from Benton Harbor to Pontiac, and later in my work years,
traveling to present at the training center in Kalamazoo while working for
the Commission. Not my favorite place to live for sure!

That is a lot of snow. The weather has been crazy here too. It
is now 14 degrees and tomorrow we are supposed to get into the 40s. Stay
safe and warm in the storm.
Take care.

We're still getting our share of wet weather in Reno. There might
be some flooding for those who live near the rivers and smaller bodies of
