John, many thanks for the book about Papa John Phillips. Just saw the e-mail
with the Dropbox link and downloaded it. Connie, watched the Karen Carpenter
movie in the middle of the night last night when I couldn't sleep. Hearing the
Carpenters' songs again sure brought back a lot of memories, particularly of my
singing with Karen in the privacy of my bedroom or apartment, wherever I was.
Hearing about her death just after my first husband's death was really traumatic
for me. I was in too much shock toeven cry, yet I ached, particularly as I
hadn't known poor Karen was anorexic. Interesting family dynamics, and if truth
be known, I doubt Agnes ever told Karen she loved her. Interesting they didn't
use actors for the parents who didnt have very thick New England accents as her
parents had. Never heard the father speak but heard her mother interviewed a
couple of times.
