OCMR MEMBERS:
On Thursday OCMR concluded its first show in 8 months.
Brian Kath and I thank all those who attended.
We had the expected 8-10 members for all days conforming
to the volunteer signup sheet.
We practiced the social distancing and masks norms.
The 20 x 40 layout went together in about 5 hours
and worked well throughout the show.
The layout was much improved visually.
Mike Allee's new River Bend corner looks great
with its rolling hills populated by Angus beef
and a solid tree line at the perimeter.
Carl not only spent his Covid time improving
the 2ft crossovers, but he completely redid his 4th module.
His work is fantastic and garnered three merit awards at last Saturday's
meet.
Hopefully we'll have another show soon so more members
can see the improved modules.
We ran KRT Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons as planned.
However, due to the local fires, the schools were closed
and only 20-25 kids were in the facility instead of the expected 80.
This allowed all kids to run on both days.
What a difference a day makes.
The kids quickly learned to master the throttles on Tuesday.
When they came back on Wednesday, they were all great engineers.
Thanks again to all who attended and I hope you all had fun running
trains again.

We will need more drivers. I suggest that you begin
contacting each othr
and form car pools. Perhaps you could meet at my shop or
the locker.
