OCMR MEMBERS:

Remember February, that was EIGHT long months ago.
That was when we had our last show, GTS at the OC Fairgrounds.

It is finally time to dust off our trains and have some fun.
Next week we have a four day exhibit at the Youth Center of Orange.

Joe has called locker time for 9am Monday, Oct 26th.
The Youth Center is only 3 miles south on Glassell.
Turn right on Almond which is one street south
of Chapman and the Orange circle, and proceed to
    426 W Almond Ave, Orange CA 92866.
Google image will show this to be a large packing house
and two main line tracks are visible from our basement windows
to enhance our entertainment.

*The Youth Center practices all required Covid safety procedures.*
These include daily temperature logs, face masks and social distancing
for their 80 students.  We will do likewise.  Visors are also acceptable.
Guests will be wearing gloves during KRT.

Show days are Monday thru Thursday.  Hours are 10am to 6pm,
except we will begin Take Down at 2:30 on Thursday
because the church needs our space for the weekend.
Our "space" is in the basement.  We will be the only persons there
except for KRT and some guests co-czar Brian Kath will bring to the show.
In other words, we have FREE RUN TIME except for 3-6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
That's 24 of the 30 available hours!

Monday will be all day setup and testing of the railroad.
KRT will be performed on both mains, two laps per guest.
The signup sheet indicates which members have
planned to support the show.
KNOW THAT KRT IS THE FOCUS OF THIS SHOW.
We have this invitation because they enjoyed us last year.
Assuming we impress equally well, this venue may invite us more than once per year.

I've attached the layout plan and signup sheet.
We could use a few more volunteers for KRT.
Not everyone has to walk the layout and we need substitutes for those who do.
We need two table folk as coordinators and certificate persons.
Also one greeter to introduce the kids to the event
and describe details on the layout.

I mentioned that Brian Kath would be bringing some guests.
At noon Tuesday will be some of his Rotary group.
They are also considering an event for us.
Special guest, since he is a Rotary member, may be Orange Mayor Mark Murphy.
He sometimes travels with a photographer so we could see some publicity as well.
Brian will be catering lunch for his guys, the YC staff and OCMR.

On Wednesday, Brian will bring two other guests.
These two ladies operate "Mama Talk" which is a group
for Asian children to teach them about American history/traditions/etc.
They are also considering inviting us to one of their presentations.
Of interest here is that they would pay handsomely for our exhibit.

I understand that for some of us, this event is tempting,
but off limits due to Covid concerns.  Stay safe at home and know that we will miss you.

I'll have more details as next Monday approaches.
Meanwhile, if you have questions, please email them.
If you can attend and are not shown, please let me know to add you to the signup sheet.

Note that our trip to GEHAMS on Nov 14th is also shown,
and you are welcome to sign up for that event also.
Harry
