I wanted to point out an upcoming race that has been made eligible to earn
Rally points at. The GLOW for Galactosemia event benefits research for a
genetic condition that is affecting a family in Clinton, TN and is fairly rare.
It's a night race on Sunday March 4, and there are several events open for
registration - a 1-Mile family fun run, a 5k, and a 10k. Registration is now
open at

there is a Race team already formed for UT-Battelle (password is ornl!). It's
important to join that team to receive Rally points. The event also has a
Facebook group (if you're into that sort of thing) and you can find it here:

There are prizes for first, second, and third in both the 5k and 10k. Currently
there are ~18 folks signed up for the 10k, so you may have a good chance at
placing in the 10k if you enter there! There is also a large party planned for
before the race with inflatables, games, food trucks, etc. - so the event is
being setup to be very family friendly. Tons of other details are available on
