Today i ran into a list that was for Feb 16 and it was submitted on the
same day and it was under the "Historic" protocol.
So i thought it was probably an unintentional data entry error.
This is the reply i got back,

I don't see anything unusual about my list, and used the Historical
Protocol properly because my purpose was birding, but I saw different
species at times of day and can not specify the exact time of each
sighting. Birders I know have been applauding this option!

Hey thanks for the explanation, i really appreciate it. I have never come
across this use of the historical protocol.
I will check in with eBird Central to see what they make of it.
Typically folks follow the guidance for yard sightings as laid out in the
eBird help file found here:
