Yes, the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting to limit our
chances to fly -- winter is here. Time for building new aircraft and
enhancing existing aircraft and enter the ORCA Build and Enhance contest.
Notice that we use the word “aircraft” and not “airplanes” so any flying
aircraft, both airplanes and drones, can enter the contest.
Just like last year there are three categories: Build, ARF and Pylon.
Build The Build category is for any new aircraft built from scratch, plans or
kits
ARF The ARF category is where you can Enhance an ARF with more functions, new
color schemes or anything else to make it truly unique.
Pylon The Pylon category is where you can Enhance either or both the Slow
Stick and E-stang making them unique.
The Contest ends March 31, 2022. Then club members can vote for their
favorites based on pictures of your aircraft. During March, 2022, details on
submitting and voting will be given.
You can submit aircraft or aircrafts in any or all categories.
Winners in each category will receive
1st place $50
2nd place $35
3rd place $20
So spend some quality time with balsa, foam, paint, tape, CA and anything else
you need to build that next flying aircraft and to wow us with making ARFs and
Pylon planes stand out from the run-of-the mill aircraft.

We would like to determine the level of interest in the Build && Enhance
Contest with a survey.
The Build & Enhance Contest was created to encourage continual RC activity
during the mostly non-flyable winter months. Judging by the paucity of
discussion on orcachat we would like to know if there is any interest in the
Build & Enchant Contest.
