Well there’s some more to add, besides the CA, epoxy and paint, namely the
internet and a credit card.
I really like the Radian. Unfortunately the original and the Night Radian
(and the Calypso) are no longer available. The only Radian now available is
the small UMX version. To me sailplanes are BIG.
After looking over what was left after my Radian took a header into the
runway, I felt that repairs, while possible, were counterproductive. What
to do?
The only good pieces on the Radian was the motor and mount and the horizontal
tail/elevator. The original horizontal tail/elevator had been replaced with
one from the Night Radian. So I fired up the old PC and checked out what’s
there. Not much. But I found out that Horizon Hobby still has Radian wings
available and Hobby Town has the fuselage and (Night Radian) canopy. So
orders were made.
As with my first Radian the only modification needed was to the tail. The
original Radian horizontal tail is flat while the Night Radian horizontal
tail has camber so a little carving on the vertical stabilizer allowed the
horizontal tail/elevator to slid in. Then apply some paint, complete the
assembly and now I have a new Radian!
