Got my slow stick kit today. No motor comes in the kit. I picked up a 400
size motor from Aloft.
I already have servos and ESC and receiver and servo extensions to reuse.
Anyone that ever junked an old bind and fly plane should have everything
needed. Except maybe a motor.

I always used 30 min. epoxy ( my hot glue gun is too hot and melts the foam)
and put extra carbon rods along the leading edge, the spar was fulll length
along the CG line and then another carbon spar along the line where the
ailerons hinged on the wing. I built the wing flat and used a servo for each
aileron. I found that tape came off after a few heating/cooling cycles in
the car or in the house. Even with extra spars the wing would go into a
flutter at full speed in a dive.
What motor comes with the kit now? Is it geared?
I flew the E-stang today for the first time and it is a good, predictable
flyer. I built it with a flat wing, 2 servos actuate the ailerons, steerable
tail wheel and tried to keep it light in weight. I put some down thrust in
the motor with 3/16 thick shims behind the top screws of the motor mount to
firewall . I used the pool noodle wheels and it takes off and lands on the
short grass. Thank you John C. for a great design.
Cheers and turning left,

P.s. I will not be flying Monday as the cat has need of a driver for a vet
visit.
