Float Fly this coming Tuesday, September 1st, starting at 8:00 a.m.
The State will be redoing the parking and surrounding area for the next 2-3
months. The use of the Lake will depend on what phase the project is in and
what the contractor is doing at the site.
We plan to go float flying at Leland Lake but if Leland is closed then we
double back and fly at Crocker Lake.
For those who have not been to Crocker Lake, it’s the lake between Highway 101
and Leland Lake. Here’s the actual direction:
After turning onto highway 101 (to Shelton and Olympia) and approximately 1-1/2
miles on your left is Crocker Lake. 2/10 mile after milepost 286 is the boat
launch. It is unmarked and easily passed by (hint, just before the boat launch
is a house with a motorhome near it – good luck!!).
Finally, since that Crocker Lake is a Washington Department Fish & Wildlife
water access site, a Discovery Pass or a Vehicle Access Pass is needed to park,
