Hi Fairlie

I looked in the doc

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E80920_01/SAGUG/exadata-storage-server-cellcli.htm

and it says default value is 1000 seconds?!

*The default value for iotimeoutthreshold is 1000s. The command takes a
value, such as 5, and a unit. The valid unit is s, for seconds.*

Thanks

Hi Ls,

From memory this was 1 second for flash (reads and writes) and 5 seconds
for HDD (only writes) in 12.1.2.1.x

It is configurable using alter cell IOtimeoutthreshold=10s
All IOs taking longer than 10 seconds will be cancelled if possible

I am currently not online and hence cannot check the value by doing some
dumps

Thanks
