I just wanted to let you know that it looks like it is working fine, I was
able to perform the change to a PDB only.
@Clay I would be curious to see the presentation you mention and see why
you think this can be problematic.

While prepping this, I did test a CDB/Single PDB combination, did the CDB
and then the PDB; then restored and did just the PDB. It APPEARED to work
(simple insert/update/delete on a single table); but, as they say, “Your
mileage may vary”. See the section in my paper on defensive
programming. I certainly would NOT recommend operating in a “split” mode.
IMHO, one of the biggest issues is that there’s no going back. So, if
you make the change, something breaks and you want/have to “switch back”,
you’ll need to build a new database and then try to get the data copied
back.

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if max_string_size can be set to extended at PDB level
only?
Assuming I have a container with 10 PDBs I would like to set it to a
single PDB. Or do I mandatory need to change to the container first then
all PDBs (including seed) ?
