Re: ora-1031

There is a Note on MetaLink about that.

The file name must conform to the standard, or the password
file is not used.

Strange that no errors are thrown until you try to login.

I have figured out. When I created password file with orapwd, I gave
file=pwd<sid_name>.ora
I deleted it, and recreated with file=orapw<sid_name>. Now I can connect.
