Not understanding ... give us some more details about your environment and what 
specific levels you are at etc?

I run in a non RAC ( you probably don't need RAC ) environment using 11.2.0.3.x 
and ASM.  Separate oracle homes for GI and Oracle.

In that kind of environment you have to run opatch auto twice ( using the GI 
PSU 
anyhow ) and as root once you point it to the grid home and the other time you 
point it to the oracle home.

Make sure that you have a good test environment in place that matches your 
other 
environments and test out the install carefully each time before moving onto 
other environments.

Anybody observed, that "opatch auto" first patches the DB home and then the
GI Home. Shouldn't it be the other way round?
