well its cause the remote db is not on 8174 and on 8172, oracle's normal stand, (cut out of metalstink) Each version of the OEM console is certified to run against certain versions of the Oracle database. To use OEM to manage an older version of the Oracle database, you must use an OEM version that is certified for that Oracle version.
