Hi.
I have those patches and I have Xms to 2048 for BSU. It took me about 5
minutes to apply the October 2020 patch, mostly conflict checking. I've
done it on a bunch of machines and they all came out at about the same
speed.
Cheers
Tim...

Rajesh,
Yes, I have those patches applied. The install of the patch is still
running about an hour. I have tried other versions of the MEM_ARGS to get
better performance. Frustrating!
How long does it take for you to apply the patches?

LeRoy,
Probably a rhetorical question - but have you applied Patches 12426828
SMARTUPDATE 3.3 INSTALLER PLACEHOLDER and 27238412 to update bsu.sh ?
Thanks,

Hello –
I am running Linux 6 with Weblogic 10.3.6. I am trying to apply the
patches for the CPU Oct 2020. I am using the bsu.sh command line to do the
patching. The execution is taking forever!!
Things I have tried-
1. Increase the Xms to 2048
2. Increase the Xmx to 4096, but due to swapping – reduced back down
to 2048
3. Set -XX:+UseParallelGC to attempt to get threading
4. Set -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit to allow GC more room
5. Rebooted
Does anyone have a solution to speed this up?? This has been running for
2 hours now…..
