Does the destination you want to put the file on appear on the database
server as a mount point that Oracle can write to from the operating system
level?
IF yes, then yes. IF no, then no.
IF you own the destination folder, the file will in many cases be owned by
the user on the OS that starts the database (often “oracle”), but since you
own the directory, most operating systems allow you to change the file
attributes.

Hi,
I am running a script that uses UTL_FILE_DIR in a machine that is not the
database server.
I used the folder /tmp to indicate the folder and the script ran right and
generate the file.
But , i don´t have access to get the file.
My doubt :
Is there a way to generate the file via UTL_FILE_DIR in the machine that I
am running the script (out of the database server) ?
