Hi there,

Apologies in advance if this doesn't answer your question but there might be a
better way to reattach to an X session. In all the attempts to forward x11
(where wasn't deactivated for security reasons) I found it to be dreadfully
slow and susceptible to network failure such as a laptop going to sleep or
hibernation. Or windows decided to reboot or similar mishaps.

In all these cases oui was practically unusable (slow) or didn't work at all.
The solution of my choice is either a silent installation in screen (cool
because it can be done so it is identical on all hosts) or if GUI was needed
then using vnc. Unlike x forwarding which always died on me if the initial
connection was lost, I could reliably reattach to running sessions and resume
where I was.

Oh and if you have a firewall simply forward port 590x and you have a SSH
encrypted connection as an added goody. Your vnc client then points to
localhost:x

Hope this helps,
Martin
