Just a thought: Use SELECT VIEW_NAME FROM DBA_VIEWS WHERE VIEW_NAME LIKE '%whateveryouwant'; Cut and paste the resulting view_name into a CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM statement where you are not using the "$".
