I have, it shows succeeded and the additional info field where errors are
typically shown is null.

Have you checked the view for any error messages?
I believe it is DBA_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS
If there is an error, it is written there.

On thing I can think of is what are the permissions on the
directory? Are they inherited through a role, if so to run as you
specify they will need to be directly granted.
