Ok, I had to add the owner in front of the table_name to get it to work. Is there any way around this? There is a synonym set up for the table already. -----Original Message----- From: Ruth Gramolini [mailto:rgramolini@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 10:53 AM To: Burton, Laura; oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Truncate Privilege Drop any table is the privilege you need. =20 Regards, Ruth -----Original Message----- From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Burton, Laura Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 11:47 AM To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Truncate Privilege Can someone tell me what privilege is needed for a user to truncate a table that is not owned by that user? I have looked at Metalink and it states the Drop Any Table privilege, but this doesn't work either. The user can select, insert, and even delete from the table. =3D20 Thank you, Laura -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
