Are the block sizes in the two databases the same? Are you plugging in a
different block size tablespace?

Subject: Transportable tablespaces - space problem

Hello all,

Another group is having a transportable tablespace problem. I thought I'd run
it by oracle-l and see if it sounds familiar to someone.

Two 40-gig tablepaces from a 10.2.0.1 database on Red Hat 4 were exported,
moved to another Red Hat 4 server and imported into a 10.2.0.4 database. From
what I have been told, the exact same daily data loads have been performed on
both databases. What I've been told is that the tables in the 10.2.0.4
database are now taking up much more space than the tables in the 10.2.0.1
database.

The tablespaces are locally managed, using Automatic Segment Space Managment.

If anyone has any clues as to why this might be behaving this why, I'd
appreciate it.

Thanks,
Lou Avrami
