Have a look at the ibm jdbc test tool. I have used it in the past to verify jdbc connections http://www-01.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/tools/jsread2.html regards, Freek D'Hooge Uptime Oracle Database Administrator email: freek.dhooge@xxxxxxxxx tel +32(0)3 451 23 82 http://www.uptime.be disclaimer: www.uptime.be/disclaimer --- From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dennis Williams Sent: dinsdag 24 mei 2011 23:59 To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Test for jdbc connection? List, I am configuring a Java JDBC connection to a database (which I don't manage). I am able to connect using SQL*Plus, but the java connection gets the error: ORA-28030: Server encountered problems accessing LDAP directory service. Of course, the JDBC connection doesn't connect the same way SQL*Plus does. Does anyone know how to simulate a JDBC connection to maybe get more connection details? Thanks, Dennis Williams -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
