Hi all, I'm studying a 10046 trace file and to my surprise I see the following "more data from client" wait in response to... a commit!? Obviously my understanding of this event's meaning is way out of whack. So can someone please explain to me what Oracle is doing here, and just what "more data from client" it could possibly be waiting for in response to a commit. (9.2.0.6 on linux) Thanks, Paul =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D PARSING IN CURSOR #1 len=3D7 dep=3D0 uid=3D33 oct=3D44 lid=3D33 tim=3D1088575511090058 hv=3D265514950 ad=3D'ba76e4ec' commit END OF STMT PARSE #1:c=3D0,e=3D527,p=3D0,cr=3D0,cu=3D0,mis=3D1,r=3D0,dep=3D0,og=3D4,tim= =3D1088575511090032 XCTEND rlbk=3D0, rd_only=3D1 EXEC #1:c=3D0,e=3D149,p=3D0,cr=3D0,cu=3D0,mis=3D0,r=3D0,dep=3D0,og=3D4,tim= =3D1088575511090523 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net message to client' ela=3D 5 p1=3D1413697536 p2=3D1 = p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net message from client' ela=3D 101065 p1=3D1413697536 = p2=3D1 p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net more data from client' ela=3D 40 p1=3D1413697536 p2= =3D48 p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net more data from client' ela=3D 20 p1=3D1413697536 p2= =3D62 p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net more data from client' ela=3D 11 p1=3D1413697536 p2= =3D11 p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'SQL*Net more data from client' ela=3D 80878 p1=3D1413697536= p2=3D25 p3=3D0 WAIT #1: nam=3D'library cache lock' ela=3D 19 p1=3D-1210751320 p2=3D-121334= 8440 p3=3D1301 WAIT #1: nam=3D'library cache lock' ela=3D 42 p1=3D-1210751320 p2=3D-121334= 8440 p3=3D1301 WAIT #1: nam=3D'library cache lock' ela=3D 65 p1=3D-1210751320 p2=3D-121334= 8440 p3=3D1301 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
