Hi!

db: 9.2.0.6
os: Windows Sever 2003

few days ago we experienced quite interesting case, which resulted in
high CPU usage on the environment described above.

Before this case happened we had set SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=10 as a solution
for timeout-ing db links. After few days we have got a CPU load not seen
before.
At the beginning we did not link it to setting SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME, but
when searching for a solution, a co-worker of mine found a metalink note
on *Bug No.* 3325411, which is actually bound to version 8.1.7 of db and
to windows Server 2000, but anyway we remove EXPIRE_TIME setting and it
seems, this move does a solution.

Anybody meet something similar? In docs it is stated that EXPIRE_TIME
eventually can decrease a network performance and in general it is
recommended to set it to 10 (in minutes), which we did.

Best regards
