I'm sorry, actually no, we didn't get to the bottom of the problem.
Part of my role is as an internal help desk. When I went back to the project
team to solve this, they had recontextualized the problem into a new format and
no longer had the issue. So I asked if they wanted to solve this purely for
academics and it was the persons last day on the job and didn't have the time
to find the old code that had the problem.
