I am using response files for my grid installs. They are much faster than
the gui (2 node cluster runs in about 5 minutes). There is one parameter I
set using the 'guess and check' method. Probably not reliable down the
road.

Can anyone help me understand why this works?

note: IP values are masked.

-- values taken from the 'subnet field' in the table generated below by
clusterVerify

-- parameter:
oracle.install.crs.config.networkInterfaceList=bond0:X.X.X.X:1,bond1:X.X.X.X:2

# 2. Run Cluster Verify(change servers after -n) : ./runcluvfy.sh stage
-pre crsinst -fixup -n server1,server2 -verbose
# 3. use the 'subnet'. add :1 for bond0 and :2 for bond1

# Name IP Address Subnet Gateway Def. Gateway
 HW Address        MTU
#  ------ --------------- --------------- --------------- ---------------
