RMAN image copy restore question

I'm investigating different ways of backing up my databases and have a
question that I couldn't find a good answer for... If you have an image
copy backup, and are using incrementals to update the image copies, is it
possible to restore to a point in time prior to the backup?
Backup runs at 9pm and updates the image copy backup

Backup completes at 5am.

Archivelogs backed up once per hour

Point in time restore is requested for 5pm the previous day.

My belief is that once the image copy is restored using the incremental
there's no way to go back before 5am.

Thank you,

WGB
