We don't run anything on AIX to get apache to run. Yeah, it checks the display variable, but as far as I have been able to tell, it hasn't actually tried to do anything with it.... I may be missing something, but it hasn't broken anything yet. In fact, even with it complaining about the display variable, it is running WAY better now than it EVER did when it was on W2K.
