I have 8.1.7.4 running on 7.1 as a play and test box. 4 disks total of 200 gig space with a 70 gig database. An exact copy of production and updated daily like production. It is the only way to learn how they would react together. I have also load the 10gAS infrastructure on RedHat AS2.1 and the 10gAS applications on a separate RedHat AS 2.1 box. Still playing with them as time permits.
