Tom,
We use Oracle Warehouse Builder here. The only thing that was
"installed" on the database server was the repository. The OWB software
is installed on our pc's and that is the only place that we work with
it. Once you install the software on your pc, you can create the
repository. I pre-created all of the tablespaces (there are 16 of
them). You have to be careful with the repository installation, as I
had some trouble with it defaulting ownership of some objects to system.
We don't use Work Flow, as I've heard bad things about it many times,
including at last year's IOUG.

Subject: Oracle Warehouse Builder Install Questions

All,

We have installed Oracle Warehouse Builder in a development warehouse
environment. We are now being asked to install Oracle Work Flow as OWB
wants to interact with OWF.

My concern is mission creep here. Is anyone here using either of these
products? How and where do you install them? On the database server
machine? Application Server? It makes me nervous to keep installing
these
(what I think) are development tools on the Db Server itself. We just
don't
have the experience (nor has *anyone* had any training) with these
tools to
make intelligent decisions regarding the installation infrastructure.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

thanks
