It's worth bearing in mind a couple of things. 1) The range of platforms and environments that Oracle runs on, using essentially the same install process for a mainframe as your laptop 2) Even Microsoft as authors of the OS don't provide a database that uninstalls all parts of itself reliably from their own OS. 3) Oracle do provide a document showing you how to do this. In all I think you've probably got your money's worth.
