RE: OEM Monitoring Templates

            My team was recently split into Production and Testing support
teams.  The person who set up OEM is in the testing team.  I reached out to him
as to the setup.  Individual instances do not have templates.  He created them
in groups and assigned them to different instances.  For example, mission
critical instances had lower thresholds than data warehouses.  I think the
issue is –type.  In my case it is correct that the template is not for the
oracle_instance.

You are supposed to supply the template name and target type I believe. Having
said that I get the same result as you. Results below from an old test system

Most the documentation is in the tool itself,

./repvfy dump  >> will show you all available modules to dump
./repvfy dump template  >> will show you the options…

$ repvfy dump template -name <template name> -type <target type> -owner
<template owner>

Type would be oracle_database, host, etc… depending on what type of templates
you have…

Courtney,

            First thanks for pointing me to this wonderful tool.  I’m having
problems with the –type option.  What should I put there?  Can you point me to
where it is documented?

            Is there any way to get a report of what is being monitored, how
often, and the threshold settings?  My auditors want a document of our health
check process.  If I could get the tables in OEM, I would be able to create a
report from the sql level.
