This answer comes with no guarantees attached and at your own risk - but it
should be hot-swappable. Of course, I don't know which ODA you have - just
the generation - but in general you should be okay with no outage -
assuming things work as designed - which it does not always because of
bugs, firmware issues, human error, and such - so if you are running a
critical workload you should not do this during peak hour probably.
However, this is a customer-replaceable action kind of an event.

There are step-by-step instructions in there with pictures just make sure
you pick the right version e.g. model etc.
Good luck!

Hello,
We have an old out of support X5-2 ODA where a hard drive has failed. We
are running 12.1.0.2 Oracle on Linux VM 6. Luckily we are triple-mirrored.
What we need to do is replace the drive with a drive from a retired X5-2
ODA but we have never done this before. So my questions are:
1. Has anyone else done this or did you let Oracle support or a 3rd party
perform the work?
2. Is down-time involved
3. Is there completed documentation (I'm still looking) that describes
what steps need to be taken?
Just looking to save money if possible.
Thank you,
Mark
