JDBC think driver via IPC?

Anyone know if it is possible to connect via IPC using JDBC thin driver, as
example from Oracle SQL Developer, and if so, what is the syntax?

I've read that it requires the listener and tcp/ip which is the only way
I've gotten it to work.
