this happened to me with an 11.2.0.3 client install... install ran. was not
able to run sqlplus. I didnt bother to check the packages before i did the
response file install. It runs in a 2 minutes.

so now i know why we didn't get an error. That is interesting.

I have a question. I went to another server and did a 'which libclntsh.so'
(or whatever .so was missing) and it was not in my path. if it is being
'relinked' shouldn't it be in my path? Even if there is a soft link
pointing to it wouldn't it show up in a which? This was in a 'redhat 6
environment.
