Increased writes in 10.2.0.5 but not in 10.2.0.4

Hi,
We have 2 env. on the same machine: a 10.2.0.4 DB and a 10.2.0.5 DB.
We run the same workload on both and the number of writes (to datafiles) on
10.2.0.4 is much less as compared to 10.2.0.5. The amount of write (in kb)
to the datafiles is same.
What I see is that 'db file parallel write' is completely missing in
10.2.0.5 env. And this seems to justify the increased writes.

Anybody else seen this previously? And how can this be resolved?
