Foiled! Even before they started! SuSE is already owned by Novell.. :P
I suppose that the crux is in de term "Open". They can buy the company,
but not the already released product. Every one (..student usually) who
likes can branch and re-start independent development of the original
pre-purchase product no matter how high the lawyers will jump :D
