RAC 18c will, of course, require a 64GB laptop. As someone who has
started with PDP-11 and 512 KB or RAM (no, it's not a mistake, it really
was 512 kilobytes) and 8 MB replaceable hard drives, I have a problem
with using "64 GB" and "laptop" in the same sentence. Actually, I have
the same problem with 32 GB. From 1985 - 1988, I was working as a COBOL
programmer on IBM 3090 400J with 32 MB (yes, that is megabytes) of RAM.
It used to service around 900 concurrent users with CICS and DL/1
running on MVS. COBOL used to be what Java is today. Same as Java, it
was horribly verbose. By the time I retire, we may be running 1TB
laptops with Windows 2026. And that, of course, will not be enough for
the latest Oracle RDBMS.

Note, however, RAC Attack has not been updated to 12.2, and likely will not be. due to significant increase in resources required. (You'll need a 32GB laptop to do 12.2 RAC Attack. 12.1 requires 16GB laptop.)
