I have a customer witth +150 instances on a node, they do have a lot of
issues with that amount of instances on a node but hardly any listener
issues. All listener issues could all be traced down to the sql*net layer,
most of them being bugs. For now the listener is handeling all incomming
connections fine.

About Oracle Support and VM: I have seen Support asking a customer to
reproduce the issue on a bare metal environment but this was only after we
concluded that this specifiic issue was a new bug and BDE would not get to
work unless we could reproduce it on a bare metal environment.

Good thought Tim. They had two reservations to VM's:

Could you elaborate a bit on that experience? It's the first time I hear
of an actual case where this happened. I knew it was possible / documented
by Oracle, but I've never seen it in effect.

What exactly was the issue you were experiencing? What version was it for
(how long ago)?
